Edinburgh Charity Fashion Show 2013

A little while ago I posted about the photoshoot with the Edinburgh Charity Fashion Show models, photographers and stylists using my jewellery.
Throughout March and April, 10% of my sales being passed to the ECFS to donate to this year's charities: Cancer Support Scotland and The Sandpiper Trust and so for two months my mother's shop, Joy Everley Fine Jewellers, has become ECFS themed!

We took elements from the styling of the shoot, such as Sophie's red rose headband, and combined it with old packing boxes, 1920s leather cases and beetle collections to create the display which gives the impression of a party taking place in the laboratory of a Victorian entomologist!

We wanted to make sure the ECFS featured prominently both inside and outside the shop (you can see this better in real life).

Finally, on Saturday 16th March, I went up to Edinburgh to see the Edinburgh Charity Fashion Show 2013!

As the sun was setting, the VIP goodie bags were put out and last minute preparations took place.

Alicia Jumman, Head of Production, was darting around at lightening speed, walkie talkie glued to her hand.

The DJs seemed surprisingly relaxed with their unlimited supply of Red Bull.

A final rehearsal of the walk for Eleanor Amoroso.

Finlay MacAulay, Assistant to the Head of Fashion and Model Coordinator, had everything under control on the runway.

The audience took their seats.

Sophie Marr, one of the models from my jewellery shoot, looked stunning in Naomi Barber Rodgers.

I am a big fan of Fox Hunt Menswear, modelled here by Frank Derrington looking very dashing.

I seem to have a thing for silk prints at the moment so I obviously found this collection modelled by Martha Haywood very appealing.

Katherine Weir provided wonderfully creative knitwear that I managed to not get any clear pictures of. I particularly liked the knitted beanie bonnet worn here by Flo Whittaker.

It couldn't be an Edinburgh fashion show without a bit of tweed and Walker Slater provided some lovely looks, my favourite being the classic three piece suit, modelled here by Hamish Crook.

I enjoyed the styling of the hair as much as the clothes in some looks, like these sweet plaits by Neil Barton on model Georgia McGlennon wearing Alice Temperley.

You may recognise Julius Colwyn from my jewellery shoot wearing this cosy looking quilted jacket by ADA Menswear.

Adam Gavshon Brady, Head of Fashion, took the mic to thank everyone involved flanked by Chair, Caroline Welles (right) and Vice Chair, Jessica Heggie.

Then came the more sombre part of the evening as we heard from representative of Cancer Support Scotland (left) and The Sandpiper Trust.

A highlight of the evening had to be model Stefania Ottelli Zoletti being accompanied on stage by a paramedic from The Sandpiper Trust, video here.

Alicia Jumman and Ross Jennings drawing the raffle prizes.

Bold androgynous tailoring and block colours from Xianfen Gu worn by Martha Haywood.

Another wonderful example of the hair styling by Neil Barton on model Georgia McGlennon.

The most dramatic pieces had to be those from Judy R Clark; full skirts, cinched waists and a fistful of tail feathers worn here by Martha Haywood.

I was particularly excited to see a fellow finalist from the Wolf&Badger Graduate Design Awards, Sophie Wetherell, worn here by Alex Reynolds.

Rasha Swais worn by CJ Chukwuma.

Rasha Swais worn by Hamish Crook.

Eleanor Amoroso worn by Stefania Ottelli Zoletti.

And finally, the third model from my jewellery shoot, Yasamin Taylor Salah, wearing a dress from John Rocha's AW12 Collection.

It was a wonderful evening and I hope that by the end of April I will be able to give a decent donation to these wonderful charities!

More to come!
